Martha Rebecca ( Becky) Davis 82, of Hickory went home to be with her Lord on February 9, 2021.
Becky was born on July 3, 1938 in Lenoir, NC to the late Richard "Bill" Swanson and Kathleen McMurray Swanson. She grew up in Lenoir and was a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church and graduated from the former Kings Creek High School in 1956. She married Robert Davis of St. Clair Shores, MI in November 1958 and moving to Michigan for a few years. Upon returning to Lenoir, NC in 1963, she and Robert settled in Mountain View in 1969. She was a longtime member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and loved being a part of the membership there. Becky was involved in Women's Missions and enjoyed singing in the choir. She operated a home day care and loved watching children from 1969 -2002. Continuing her love for children she volunteered with the Catawba County Girl Scouts for many years. Most of all, Becky loved her family and spending time with them. She was always excited to celebrate milestone occasions and vacation together.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert J Davis and her two children, James R Davis of Claremont, NC and Cheryl Chatlin and her husband, Scott of Duxbury, MA; her grandchildren Haley Chatlin and Garrett Chatlin. Also, her sister Brenda Bartles and her husband Ernest, of Lenoir and nephew Lance; and his sons, Logan and Sawyer; and her sister-in-law, Carol Rabaut and her husband, John of Titusville, FL and nephews John, Jr and Ron.
Due to Covid concerns a small private service will be held next week, followed by burial
at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family would like to Thank the Staff of Trinity Ridge for all the loving care she received during her time she spent there.
