Mrs. Mary Floyd Jones

Mary was born August 24, 1934 in Cleveland Co. to the late James Reid and Mary Lizzie Mode Floyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Shearin; brothers, Roy Floyd and Buster Floyd and a sister, Jane Dispinette.

She was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and retired as a waitress from Havelock Restaurant. In last several years, she was active in her community and church as a volunteer.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Jones of the home; daughter, Barbara Laws of Greenville, NC; son, James Douglas Clark and wife, Betty of Lewisburg, NC; step son, Keith Jones and wife, Toni of Hickory; step daughter, Pamela Potts of Hickory; granddaughters, Tracy Davis of Easley, SC and Sherry Clogovac; grandson, James Douglas Clark, II; 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Earl Floyd of Raleigh.

Services will be Friday, September 21, at 2:00 PM at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. John Whaley officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
