Jean was born July 23, 1921 in Burke Co. to the late Thomas and Clara Beard Puett.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Pinkie F. Shull, a sister, Helen Brown and a son-in-law, Johnny Black.
Jean was a member of Westview United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane Shull Black, of Hickory, her son, Dennis Shull, and wife, Sylvia, of Hickory, grandsons, Casey Black of Raleigh and Carson Black of Charlotte, sister, Reba Reese of Morganton and brothers, Thomas Puett and Clyde Puett both of Hickory.
A graveside service will be Sunday, October 30, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Catawba Memorial Park with Rev. Debra Short officiating.
