

Mee (Vang) Kang born on February 5, 1933 in Pounong, Xiengkhouang Province Laos, the third child of the late Wang Yee Kang and Mai Y. Kang, passed away November 10, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, North Carolina.
Mee (Vang)Kang married Pang Ge Yang in the mid 1950s. Devoted wife and loving mother of their deceased five sons and one daughter, She remained his faithful widow after his death in 1976. She is survived by her brother, Txa Chong Khang of St. Paul, MN, sister, Youa Khang of Wusau, WI, sons, Kao(Chong) Yang and wife Mai of Bethlehem, NC and Ying(Youa Chou) Yang and wife Chee of Newton, NC, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In 1980, Mee Kang courageously immigrated alone with her children to The United States, arriving first to Hamilton, MT and then Santa Anna, CA. In 1981, still pursuing a better life for her family, She led them to Providence, RI. Nine years later Mee Kang settled in Bethlehem, NC. She became a US Citizen in July 27, 1987. A single mother for thirty six years, She dedicated her life to the care and safety of her family.
Mee Kang is remembered by her family and loved ones as a caring mother, avid gardener and poulterer. Her kind generosity, compassionate nature, and winning smile will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
