Michael Arden Poole

Michael Arden Poole, 47, passed away October 31, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center after a brief illness. Michael was born July 13, 1966 in Baltimore City, MD to the late Wesley Eugene & Ruby Elizabeth Johnson Poole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Poole and a step-mother, Frances Poole. He was a member of East Hickory Baptist Church and was employed by Corning Cable System. Surviving are his daughter; Andrea Rae Poole of Hickory; son, Michael Anthonie Hoig of the home; grandson, Bentley Shane Stout; brothers, Wesley Poole and wife, Bree, of Washington, PA and Stanely Adams and wife, Karen, of Bethlehem, NC; sisters, Patricia Gavin and husband, Tom, of Westminster, MD, Diana Hyle and husband, Joe, of Westminster, MD and Karen Taylor and Dano of Hickory; numerous aunts, uncles, niece,nephews and close cousins. Mike’s family would also like to thank his “Corning Family” for all of their love and support through this difficult time. Services will be Sunday, November 3, 2013, at 2:00 P. M. at East Hickory Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Reynolds and Pastor Tracy Mull officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to one’s favorite charity.
