Conover – Mildred “Mickey” Levord Hunsucker Cornelius Glaze, 90 of Conover went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Born on May 11, 1931 in Catawba County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wesley and Mamie Elizabeth Roberts Hunsucker. Throughout her life, Mickey was a devoted Christian and was very active in her church. Family was very important to her and the life she lived spoke for her. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by 2 husbands, Winfield Stevenson Cornelius and Agnew Glaze; she was also preceded in death by a special friend, Preston Simms; a brother, Henry Wesley Hunsucker; a sister, Charlie Bell Gilbert.
She is survived by 4 children, Melinda Darlene Lortz, Elizabeth Yvonne Gibbs, Michael Stevenson Cornelius, and Charles Jonathan Cornelius; a brother, Willie Ray Reinhardt; 8 grandchildren, Neil Lortz and wife Tonya, Ingrid Wilfong and husband Darren, Jonathan Cornelius and wife Dolly, Chasity Thompson and husband Michael, Rhyian Phillips and wife Debra, Sandrea Jones and husband Garnett, and Adrienne Jordan and spouse Maia, Stacey Alexander and husband Rocky; 19 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to the family, special friends, Ivey McCorkle and family, Judy Bonds and family, Katherine Smith and family, and Robert McCleave and family. And a special niece, Vevie Gibbs.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Joe Shuford officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow the service at Catawba Memorial Park.
