Taylorsville - Norma Jean Poole Hooton, 78 of Taylorsville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on June 10, 1943 in Norfolk County, VA, Norma was the daughter of the late C.D. and Alice Robinette Poole.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Harold Gene Hooton and her sister, Margaret Poole McCollum.
Norma is survived by 2 nephews, Adrian McCollum and Chris McCollum; a cousin, Barry Cooper and wife Jane; 2 brother-in-laws, Bob Hooton and wife Anne and Duane Hooton and wife, Betty; a sister-in-law, Debbie Hartsock and husband Tom.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Catawba Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kenny Robison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church of Hickory or Valley Nursing Center Activities Dept. in Norma’s name.
