Patricia “Patty” Bauguss McKinney, 83, of Hickory, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her family. Born March 5, 1936, Patty’s greatest accomplishments were caring for her loving husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patty never met a stranger and was loved by all.
Patty is preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Paul, Jr., parents, Hilton and Neal Bauguss and sisters, Jo Ann Forte and Phyllis Mansolo.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Billy McKinney; children, Pam Stoll of Kernersville, NC, James (Jim) McKinney and wife Lisa of Coppell, TX, Janet Harter of Hickory, NC and Rob Lyalls. Patty leaves behind seven grandsons, Dustin Isenhour of Northglenn, CO, Kendall Isenhour of Granite Falls and Dayle Jones, Andrew White of Hickory, Tanner McKinney of Athens, GA and fiancé, Sam Watson, Cameron Harter of Eagle River, Alaska and wife Katie Harter, Justin McKinney of Austin, TX, and Brady Harter of Delueth, GA. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Danielle White of Sarasota, FL.; and sister, Jerry Ellsworth of Port St. Lucie, FL.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory. A memorial service, officiated by Wil Walker, will follow. After the service, the family will receive friends at the home.
The family wishes to extend immense appreciation to EMS personnel and the ICU staff at Catawba Memorial Hospital. A special thank you to the doctors and ICU nurses at Carolina’s Medical Center who showed compassion and sympathy while caring for our sweet wife, mother and grandmother. Heaven gained an angel that we will forever miss and love.
