Patricia Ann Murphy

We regretfully announce the passing of Patricia Ann Murphy, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Patricia left us peacefully on December 24, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, adventure, and unwavering strength. Born on June 26, 1950, in Miami, Florida, to the late James and Dora Day, she lived a life that inspired all who knew her.

Patricia is lovingly remembered by her husband of over 54 years, Jack David Murphy. Together, they embarked on a journey of worldwide travel before they began their adventure in parenthood. Their family includes their children Leal-Ann Kratz, Daniel Eric Kratz(son-in-law), Timothy Michael Murphy, Lauren Elizabeth Murphy(daughter-in-law), John Patrick Murphy, and Ally Michelle Murphy(daughter-in-law), along with their beloved grandchildren Elizabeth Rose Murphy, Gunnar Reid Murphy, Liam Blaze Murphy, and Marley Rain Murphy.

Professionally, Patricia made her mark as a shipping clerk at ADAM Investments and found entrepreneurial success with her curtains business. Her remarkable organizational skills were a testament to her diligent nature.

Patricia's commitment to her community shone brightly through her volunteer work with the high school marching band and the neighborhood tennis club. She was passionate about sewing often making her own clothes. In high school she was quite the fashion plate with a design that often tended towards a floral motif.

At home, Patricia was the heart and soul of her family and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Known for her calm, cool, and collected demeanor, especially in financial matters, Patricia was a pillar of strength and stability for her family.

As we bid farewell to Patricia, we reflect on a life that was a testament to the power of love. Though greatly missed, her presence will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home, 940 29th Ave NE, Hickory, Sunday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00pm.
