Patricia Jo (Holland) Shell

She was born on June 10, 1937 to the late C. R. Holland and Elsie Eckard Holland in Catawba County. Patricia was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a former longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She received her undergraduate degree from Lenoir Rhyne College and her graduate MEd And EdS degrees from Appalachian State University. She was a lifelong teacher, serving Grandview Middle School and the Hickory City Schools for over 38 years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years; G. Ray Shell.

Survivors include her two sons; Gregory R. Shell and wife Gina of Mt. Holly and their son, Gabriel Thomas Shell; and son, Andrew A. Shell and wife Allison of Fuquay-Varina and their children; Jackson Neely Shell, Laurel Holland Shell, and Grayson Robert Shell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The family will receive prior to the service from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. Pastor Judy Drysdale will be officiating the service.
