Paul Allen Robinson

HICKORY— Paul Allen Robinson, 85 passed away November 19, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Paul was born August 30, 1931 in Alexander County to the late Clyde T. and Hattie Luna Mae Robinette Robinson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother Bessie Robinson; a sister Mabel Crouch; 3 brothers Solon, Hayden, James Robinson. He was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church for 60 years, a member of American Legion Post 48, serving as an Honor Guard for military funerals for over 25 years and 40/8 of the American Legion. He worked for Southern Desk and Drexel Heritage Furniture for 45 years as a quality engineer and after retirement he worked for Catawba Valley Medical Center for 17 years transporting patients to and from the hospital for the Cancer Center. He is survived by his wife Doris Chapman Robinson of the home; daughters Cindi Morrison and husband Mike of Hickory and Sonya Reese and husband Kevin of Connelly Springs; grandchildren Amanda Morrison of Hickory, Magara Reese of Connelly Springs, Trent Morrison of Hickory, Derek Whaley of Hickory, Caleb Reese of Morganton, Elijah Reese of Connelly Springs; great grandchildren Addyson Whaley and Connor Whaley of Hickory; sister Martha Killian of Hickory; brothers Dwight Robinson and wife Betty of South Carolina and Louis Robinson of Hickory. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Frady and Rev. Terry Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
