Pollie Hedrick Brotherton

HICKORY--Pollie Hedrick Brotherton, 89, passed away Oct. 23, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Pollie was born September 29, 1925 in Catawba Co. to the late Lester and Emma Jane Drum Hedrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay C. Brotherton; son, Donald Brotherton; 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; brother, George Hedrick and a sister, Annie Mae Cobb. She was a member of East Hickory Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great- grandmother. Surviving are her daughters, Sue McCracken of Hickory, Wanda “Joy” Hilton and husband, Bobby of Newton; sons, Dennis Brotherton and wife, Paula of Taylorsville, Steve Brotherton and wife, Jeanie of Conover, Mike Brotherton and wife, Cindy of Clarksville, TN and Danny Brotherton and wife, Phyllis of Florence, SC.; 38 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 9 great- great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Hildebrand of Hildebran and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2:00 P. M. at East Hickory Baptist Church with Rev. Tracy Mull officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
