Polly Sue Hall Braswell January 14, 1951 – July 21, 2025 Polly Sue Hall Braswell, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Hickory, North Carolina, on July 21, 2025. Born in McDowell County, to the late Rolen and Ruth Hall. Polly was shaped by the mountains of western North Carolina and the deep bonds she shared with her brother and sister. That closeness—rooted in faith, laughter, and the values of a close-knit family—remained at the heart of who she was throughout her life. Polly had a gentle spirit and a great sense of humor. She loved a good laugh, often finding joy in playing a lighthearted prank. For 25 years, she shared a devoted marriage with her husband, William “Bucky” Braswell. They built a life full of love and simple joys including their mutual love for their cats. An avid gardener, Polly found joy and peace in her yard, tending to her flowers and special trees. She loved watching the birds and wildlife that visited her lawn and could rarely be found idle—always working on a craft, a new project, or planning her next lighthearted prank. In addition to her parents Polly was preceded in death by her brother Mark Hall and her son Eric Crosby. Polly is survived by her loving husband, William Braswell; her sister, Anne Allison; her niece, Dakota Hall; and her great-nephew, George Allison. Polly will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generous heart, and the laughter she brought into the lives of others. She will be deeply missed. In her honor, hug your people tight, make someone laugh, and don’t skip dessert.
The family will receive friends, Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Hickory Funeral Home with Reverend Ernie Richards officiating.
