Ramona Lee Cloer Wilkinson

RAMONA LEE WILKINSON HICKORY-Ramona Lee Wilkinson, 85, of Statesville formerly of Hickory went home to be with her Lord and her son, Billy on November 26, 2014. Born on December 4, 1928 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late William Jason and Minnie Bell Cloer. Ramona was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress, homemaker, decorator, and a wonderful cook. Ramona won her family’s first color TV set with her white lace pant suit entry in a sewing contest sponsored by a Raleigh TV station. She was a member of Plateau United Methodist Church in Vale. Ramona will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her cat Sassy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Guy Wilkinson, brother, William Keith Cloer, and daughter-in-law Denise Wilkinson . Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert Mouzon Wilkinson of Statesville, daughter, Sheila Wnuk and husband John of Jamison, PA; son, Randy Wilkinson of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Tatia Prieto (Andres) of Huntersville, Lisa Gentilucci (Duane) of Irmo, SC, Haley Brake (DJ) of Fort Benning, GA, Chloe Wilkinson of Yuba City, CA, Alexis Wnuk of Bethesda, MD; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Lucas, Carter, Kiley, Olivia, and Charlotte. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2 PM at Plateau United Methodist Church in Vale with Pastor Bobby Petree officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 -2 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the local animal Humane Society or Plateau United Methodist Church, 3315 Scronce Rd, Vale, NC 28168.
