Born in Catawba County on October 28, 1954, he was the son of the late Harmon Leo and Polly Sue Sears McRary.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister Rene' Huffman.
Randy graduated from Granite Falls High School, he played football, baseball, slow pitch softball, avid golfer and die-hard Carolina Fan. He loved to cook, and was always a jokester, looked like a bear but was actually a teddy bear. He always wanted to tell you a better way to do it. He was loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and a loyal friend, he will be missed for his humor by his family and all who knew him.
Randy was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Methodist Church, where he operated the sound system and served on the board of trustees. He also worked in construction.
He is survived by his wife Marsha Cole McRary of the home; his son Tracy McRary and wife Sandy; his daughter Carla Yoder and husband Richie; grandsons Cole McCrary and fiancé Rylee Gorby, Dillon Benge; granddaughters Kirsten Annas and husband Perry and Grace Hartley; great granddaughter Aurora Jade; soon to be great grandson Wyatt Donnie and a niece Theia Wheeler and husband Daniel.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm, at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Simon Chigumira, Reverend Eunice Chigumira, and Reverend Mitchell Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
Burial will be private at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Granite Falls. Pallbearers will be Mark Kiser, Brian Sears, Robby Sears, Lucas Swanson, Josh Keller, Brian Travis and Andy Minton.
