I do not know where to start. Randy was such a special person in the lives of my parents and me. Our parents were friends before I was born so I have known him my entire life. Throughout my teenage years I was so very lucky to be part of so many of his wonderful adventures. He spent many weekends taking us on beautiful trails in the Blue Ridge and Smokies. We paddled, climbed, hiked and throughout it all the  laughter was constant. He and my Dad had their own camping and fishing adventures and the stories were always hilarious. All of  those memories are priceless. 
We loved Randy dearly. After I left NC I did not get to see him in person more than a handful of times but have followed him and his adventurous spirit for years. Lucky to have had the opportunity to keep in touch. I am heartbroken to learn we have lost this one of a kind man. I hope he and my Dad can continue some of their camping and fishing adventures now that they are in an even more beautiful place. 
Rest easy Randy. We will miss you. 

Randy, my dear friend. You were truly one of a kind, and always took the time to see the beauty in all the little things. Kind, genuine, and caring, with such a giving heart. You never failed to put a smile on my face with all of your many stories and pictures of all the great adventures you took. You may be one of the only people I have ever met that I truly believe made every day you were given count. I have no doubt in my mind your kind spirit is somewhere enjoying a new kayaking trip, or a fantastic hike on a beautiful mountain side. I hope you know the impact you made on this Earth that you so loved. 

Rest in peace Randy.  You will be missed.

I worked with Randy for a few months, and I always looked forward to hearing his stories, and him sharing his knowledge of guns, and knives with me. He was a good person, that wouldn't hesitate to help others, and he will be missed.

Rip big brother we weren't  all that close but I loved you and you loved me keep riding and paddling till we meet again tell Dad I love him

I am so sorry about the loss of Randy. We saw each other Monday thru Friday , 7 till 3 for the last 34 years. Although we did not always see eye to eye we had mutual respect for one another. There  were many times that he pulled one over on me. Wish it was vice versa too but I guess he was a lot better at it than I was. I got a few over on him but not near as many. I will miss you deeply.
