Richard "Dick" Watson

CONNELLY SPRINGS—Richard “Dick” Watson, 80 of Connelly Springs, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care. Dick was born September 28, 1936 in Burke County to the late Jefferson Atlas and Molly Daye Watson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Ruby Justice and his brothers Hugh Watson, Alec Watson and Gary Watson. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years Gracie McGalliard Watson of the home ; his children Belden Hadley Watson and wife Denise, Charles “Chuck” Watson and wife Robin, Mollye Michelle Floyd and husband Blake, and Terry Reucile Watson and wife Kristie; grandchildren Anisha Godfrey, Bobby Godfrey, Shelina Watson, Kristi Paugh, Marc Atkins, Tiffany Pew, Morgan Laastad and L J Kendrick; great grandchildren Chayla, Raven, Parker, Paisley, Phinleigh, Logan, Destiny, Aiden, Karmen, Kaylee, Daylee, Addison Grace, Samuel, Makenzie and Braxton and his sister Theresa Childers. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at Shady Grove United Methodist Church. A memorial services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Mitchell Boughman officiating.
