Richard "Rick" Curtis Roberts

Rick was born on April 24, 1952, in Gaston County to the late Clarence Eugene Roberts Jr. and Margaret Combs Roberts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Eugene Roberts III, an aunt Mildred Combs, and a great nephew Hunter McConnell.

He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He was employed as a personal lines manager at Broome Associated Insurance for 40 years.

He had a passion for bass fishing and enjoyed the outdoors and life itself.

Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Renee Whitener Roberts of the home, a daughter, Lisa Bennett and husband Robert of

Hickory, a son Scott Roberts of the home, two sisters, Peggy Poe and husband Gifford of Granite Falls and Jan Moore and husband Jerry of Claremont, nine nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be Friday, June 29, at 4:00 P. M. at Mountain View Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Smith officiating. A service of interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at 11:00 AM Friday.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 3:45 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church.
