Rickey Allen Huffman

HICKORY— Rickey Allen Huffman, 62 passed away peacefully at Catawba Regional Hospice on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Catawba County on April 26, 1954 to the late Paul Luther Huffman and Bobbie B. Martin. A loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be deeply missed. Rickey was a friend to everyone and was always respectful and helpful to his fellowman. Rickey served in the Army for 4 years. He served as senior mechanic for Hickory Fire Department for 27 years and retired March of 2015 from the City of Hickory. He is survived by his sons Robbie Huffman and wife Michelle of Aurora, CO and Ashley Huffman and wife Helen of New Boston, MI; granddaughters Adia Huffman, Emma Huffman, Shelby Kessler and Elle Huffman; his mother Bobbie B. Martin of Winston-Salem; his sister Diane H. Deal and husband Gene of Winston-Salem and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Orders Huffman and a brother Paul Michael Huffman. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00am at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
