Rita was born November 25, 1936 in Grayson County, VA., and was the daughter of the late Robert Garfield Mabe and Emma Madigan Brown Mabe. .
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ruben “Bud” Bruner of 49 years; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Rita is survived by her 3 sons, Randy Bruner, George Bruner and Timothy Bruner and wife Gina; 3 daughters, Virginia Doub and husband Gray, Jenene Nellenbach and husband Anthony and Barbara Bruner; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 4 grandchildren, Angel Bruner, Shay Bruner, Kelly Carpenter and husband Vince, Madigan Gioscio and husband Frankie; and 6 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on February 25, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church - Conover.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Pre-School at 410 – 1st. Ave. N. Conover, NC 28613.
