Rita Faye Roseberry Penny

Rita Faye Roseberry Penny, 62, of Conover, went home to be with her Lord on August 7, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born May 25, 1954 in Pulaski, VA, she was the daughter of Barbara Alison Roseberry and the late Fredrick Van Roseberry, Jr. Rita was a homemaker.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Roseberry.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years Donald Penny of Conover; son, Benjamin David Atwood of Bakersville, NC; daughters, Regina Burleson and husband Randy of Hickory, Kimberly Atwood of Hickory; stepdaughter, Penny Roller of Witmore, SC; brother, Fredrick Roseberry, Jr of Hickory; sister, Elaine Roseberry of AL; and 11 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor Curtis Ponder officiating. Burial will follow in Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery in Elkin, NC.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers to honor Mrs. Penny will be Chris Heath, Mike Jordan, Robert Couch, Steven Gunter, Johnny Roller, and Ryan Whitley.
