CLAREMONT – Robert Evan Mason, 64 of Claremont passed away on December 2, 2019.
Born on August 31, 1955 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Ernest Mason and Irene James Parker and Wade Perline Parker Jr. Robert enjoyed raising dogs, visits with his grandchildren, raising plants, and making sure his yard stayed maintained. He was an overall loving and happy father and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Wade Smith Jr and close friend, Blue Gibbs.
Survivors include his children, Vonkesha Wilkins and husband Joe of Lincolnton, Latasha Mason of Hickory, Sonja Mason and husband David McGill of Claremont, and Robert Mason Jr. of Catawba, Tori Parker and husband Jeremiah of Catawba; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Sophia Daniel of Conover, Wilbur Mason of Sherrill’s Ford, fiance' of 18 years, Sheila Parson; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11 AM at Catawba Memorial Park with Christopher Nivens and Pastor Jeremiah Parker officiating. Burial will follow.
They family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at Catawba Funeral Home.
