Born April 10, 1946, in Bryn Mawr, PA he was the son of the late Robert Harry Pegg and Virginia Passmore Pegg. Bob lived a life marked by humility, sacrifice, servitude, and faithful stewardship, dedicating himself to his faith, his family, and his work.
A long-time member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Bob faithfully served his church as a deacon, treasurer, and trustee. His steady leadership and servant’s heart reflected a deep commitment to his faith and church family.
Bob was a Certified Public Accountant and spent more than 50 years serving clients in public accounting. In 2013, he established his own accounting firm, where he continued working with dedication and care. He treated his clients like family and remained committed to serving them even in the final weeks of his life.
Outside of his professional work, Bob found joy in the mountains of NC spending time at his camper at Buffalo Camp, having breakfasts at Bob Evans with long-time family friend Rozena Lee, gardening, watching birds, and following sports. A former college football player at Bucknell University and Mars Hill College and an avid baseball player, he carried a lifelong love for athletics. He especially enjoyed the little league World Series and was able to attend in person, multiple times. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whose lives he loved to be a part of.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annelle Barefoot Pegg, and his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Joshua Pegg (Carolynn), Jacob Pegg (Renee), and Zachary Pegg (Sara Beth); his brother, Tom Pegg, his brother-in-law, Rowdy Barefoot (Pam), his sister-in-law, Alice Barefoot; and his 10 grandchildren: Ella, Maylee, Brooklynn, Gretchen, Sawyer, Silas, Daisye, June, Nora, and Annie. As well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday March 14, 2026, at Lakeview Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Annelle Pegg Sunday School Class at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4080 North Center Street, Hickory, North Carolina 28601, for their support of the Annelle Pegg scholarship fund.
Bob will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet strength, deep friendships and love for his family. His life leaves a lasting legacy in the lives of those he served, mentored, and loved.
