Steve was born June 30, 1950 in Catawba Co. to the late Ray and Hazel Keller Winkler.
He was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Debra Bost Winkler,
daughters, Wendy Ellis and husband Dustin of Lincolnton and Stacie Pollard of Hudson,
son, Christopher Winkler and wife Denise of Granite Falls,
stepsons, Jason Morrison of Stony Point, Derek Hefner of Nashville, TN,
grandchildren, Courtney and Zac Pollard of Hudson, Daniel and Tyler Russ of Lincolnton,
step granddaughter, Candace Pitman of Granite Falls,
a sister, Bobbie,
3 brothers, Jackie, Jerry and Kenneth.
A memorial service will be Friday, February 12, 2010, at 11:00 A. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend William F. Milholland officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #48 Hickory.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 until 8:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
