Steven Arthur Erikson

Hickory - Steven Arthur Erikson, 82 of Hickory passed away on May 19, 2024 at his residence.

Born on July 1, 1941 in Winnebago County, IL, Steven was the son of the late John and Margaret Winslow Erikson.

Steve was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne and then Appalachian State University with a master’s in public administration. He worked in local governments as a planner. He was proud of his military service during Vietnam. He accomplished his bucket list by travelling to all seven continents and 50 states.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Ryan Erikson.

Those left to cherish his memory include son Greg Erikson, granddaughter Emma Erikson, brother Dale Erikson (Phyllis), nephews Eric Erikson (Marian), Carter Erikson, and Mark Erikson (Kim), his son Stan Pressley, ex-wife and friend Sherry Erikson, as well as numerous other family members.

A Graveside Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 3:00pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45pm at Catawba Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ryan Adam Erikson Scholarship Fund at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
