Mrs. Thelma Jones Smith Fox

Thelma was born June 16, 1921 in Catawba County. to the late Henry and Delia Huffman Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Smith, a daughter, Judy Smith Norton, two sons, Tommy Smith, Dale Smith, three brothers, Lloyd Jones, R.G. “Robert” Jones, George Jones and a sister, Audrey Lail.

Thelma was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She retired from Broyhill Furniture.

Surviving are sons, Johnny Smith of Newton, Larry Smith and wife Vickie of Hickory, Donald Smith Sr. and wife, Rose of Hildebran, Jimmy Smith and wife, Barbara of Newton, a daughter, Carolyn Rozzelle of Hickory, twenty-four grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren , sixteen great-great-grandchildren a brother, Jim Jones of Shelby and a sister, Margaret Feagan of Atlanta, GA.

Services will be Thursday, April 28,2011 at 2:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Disher officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28th, 2011 from 12:45P.M. Until 1:45 P.M.at Hickory Funeral Home

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
