Virginia Bell Herman

Hickory - Virginia Bell Wright Herman, 92 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at Trinity Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on June 6th, 1933, in Cleveland County, NC, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John Fred and Minnie Bell Arrowood Wright. Virginia loved baking for others and loved working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed being a seamstress, making bedding and curtains in her spare time. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband, Ervin Herman, and her daughter, Lela Moore.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Carmella Helton and husband, Jim, Cathy Campbell and husband, Berry; sons, Robert Helton, Chris Helton and wife Kelly, and Paul Helton and wife Tina and her stepson, Eric Herman as well as, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, November 6th, 2025, at 10:00 am. with Pastor Mark Seaman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 5th, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church at 2160 35th Ave Dr NE, Hickory, NC 28601 in Virginia’s name.
