

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Wanda Milam Overcash, 73, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Brian Center in Hickory. Born July 2, 1943 in Creston, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edgar George Milam and Torrence Graybeal Milam. Wanda retired as a seamstress in the furniture industry. She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, playing bingo and spending time with her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jaymie Overcash; and brothers, Fritz Milam, Charles Milam, John Milam, Jack Milam, and Jerry Milam.
Wanda is survived by daughters, Pam Williams and husband James of Hickory, and Lysa Triantafillou and husband Jim of New Hill, NC; grandchildren, Benjamin Williams and Anthony Triantafillou; brother, Jimmy Milam of Creston, NC; sisters, Linda Milam of Mountain City, TN, and Lois Dellinger and husband, Jim of Hickory; her former husband of 27 years, Glenn Overcash; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor Rick Cornejo officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hickory Manor, Frye Regional Medical Center, Catawba Hospice and Brian Center, Viewmont for their wonderful care of their mother.
