Along with his parents, Clate and Lillian Buchanan; his brothers, Edward Buchanan and Robert Buchanan; sisters, Cathy Buchanan and Julia Houston; and four great grandchildren, miscarriages, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Buchanan and daughter Lisa Buchanan of the home; sons, Jeffrey Wright (Tammy), Jim Wright (Kay), daughter, Donna Canipe (Rick); 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family received friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Mitchell Stotts and Rev. Jamie Mosteller officiated the service. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
