He was born on January 4, 1943 to the late Wayne C. Roberts and Thelma Redmon Roberts in Madison County. Clyde was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He loved to listen to Gospel music. Clyde was a resident of Newton for 20 years. Before retirement, Clyde worked as a Corporate Traffic Manager for Black and Decker.
Along with his parents, his granddaughter, Carrie Ann Sponseller; brothers, Herschel Roberts and Fred Roberts preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Roberts of the home; daughters, Paula Roberts of Greensboro and Tonya Sponseller and husband Mike of Hanover, PA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Dr. Tim Jernigan, Dr. Ed Yount, and Rev. Mike Sponseller will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
