Helen V. Calalang-Javier passed away on April 17, 2026 at NYU Langone Long Island with her family by her side. She was born in Binalonan, Philippines and emigrated to the United States in 1977, eventually settling down in Westbury, NY in 2002. She worked as a Nursing Director for the Mother/Baby Unit in Bellevue Hospital as well as an Assistant Director for the Northwell Network Care before retiring in 2023. With her lifelong career as a nurse, she was driven to helping people, even to the very end. She loved crafting with her hands, collecting crystals, and watching foreign TV shows. She was very active- travelling the world and walking everywhere, especially by the beach.
Helen was predeceased by her mother, Concepcion V. Calalang and her father Herminio Calalang Sr. She is survived by her husband, Eugenio M. Javier, two children- Brittney P. Javier-Bailey (Dalton) and Geneson T. Javier, and her siblings- Herminio Calalang Jr. (Veronica), Hernina Calalang, Henrico Calalang (Rose), and Hasmin C. Tan
