John "Sean" Doherty

Sean was born in Donegal, Ireland to Brigid & Bernard Doherty and was 1 of 15 children. Family and faith were what he valued most.

Sean was a dedicated husband to Barbara, his loving wife of 57 years, and a devoted father to Colleen (Jack) Brigid (Dan) and Kevin (Elysia). He was a proud Papa to five beautiful grandchildren: Erin, Sean, Katie, Olivia & Emma who brought him immense joy. Sean will be missed beyond measure. He loved family gatherings and any chance to share stories of his years in Ireland, his US Army days and his workdays at UPS. We will share those stories and carry him in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 7-9pm 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 85 Post Ave, Westbury, NY 11590 on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590.
