Merry Christmas Mom , , , We love you and we miss you

Dear Ki, it took me a while to leave my memories of you because there are so many and Everytime I attempted to do so I would begin to cry and I couldn't see my phone screen. Here's to a wonderful Mother and Mother in-law who did the right thing for all of her children. She provided them with a clean home, clothing and was by far the best Italian cook I have known and gave her family members true Italian meals and made with the secret ingredient, LOVE. I remember when when she was making her her outrageous meatballs, I said to her, " Best meatballs made in Japan" she laughed with her shy laugh,  as she always had a great sense of humor . She worked so hard to do the right and maybe sometimes to had. I thank you Ki and Lou for the wonderful gift you gave me, your beautiful daughter, Susanne the love of my life. I will miss you and I will see you on the other side. R. I. P  dearest KI.

Whenever we got together, Mom seemed to find a reason to celebrate. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great grandsons Sam, Jon, and Isaac.  Mom was so surprised and appreciated when she received any gift.  She always found a way to reciprocate a kindness, not because she had to, because kindness and giving was part of her essence..  We all love and miss you Mom.

You were thoughtful and helpful.  
You were happy and full of life.
You were funny and fun.
You were sugar and spice, and everything nice.
You were beautiful. 
You were clever and wise.
You were humble. You were gracious.
You were blessed.  You were thankful.  
You were brave. You were strong.
You were kindhearted and kind.
You are loved.

Thank you for being you, for all you taught me, for all you gave to me.
Most of all, thank you for being my mommy.
We miss you, Mommy. In loving memories, you are forever in our hearts.

Our hearts are saddened by the loss of our dear Zizi Ki. A beautiful caring soul whose love and thoughtfulness will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We are blessed to have you in our life and will remember your gentle smile along with all the fond family memories. You nourished us with your knack for delicious cooking and had an eye for creative beauty in all that surrounded you. Special people never leave us and you dear Godmother are with us always. Rest well in peace with our family in heaven.  Always in our prayers with much love and gratitude.

In memory of our sweet Tizi Keys, who was loved by everyone and will be in all our hearts forever. Our fond memories of our childhood with Tizi and our cousins will be with us forever. I will always remember how wonderful a cook Tizi was, specially her fried rice! As a little girl I loved going to Arthur Avenue shopping with her and she loved telling everyone how I much enjoyed going with her. She was a loving, caring, and kind soul, who enjoyed life and will be missed by everyone. She is now an angel with the rest of our departed family angels, watching over us. Rest in peace Tizi we love you.

After 91 years, Kiyoko (Kounoike) Coppeta left this world to join her spirit family and friends.  About a year ago, she said ". . . You should write a book about your life so you could read me the story."  I joked that the title of my biography would be "Made in Japan."  She repeatedly told me the story of her journey to America, arriving on New Years Eve 1953, and her first child born the following May.  It took great courage to leave her homeland, family and friends and venture to a new country with many different customs and a new language.  She became known as Zizia Ki (Italian for Auntie Ki) or later simply as Kiki. Her July birthstone was ruby --- no need to guess her favorite color -- red.  She had passion for everything she did -- cooking, sewing, crafts and travel.  The only thing she loved more was her family.  After a big homemade holiday dinner, she enjoyed playing bingo or card games for pennies.  And she usually ended up with the biggest pile of pennies. Afterwards, with coffee and Italian pastry for dessert, we all listened to the embarrassing stories of "...when you were little..."  Mom lived a full life and loved all with her whole heart. We still feel your love and we miss you very much. Rest in peace Mom.

We will forever miss grandma 💜 I my heart is full of love for her. My memories with her I will always hold dear. Grandma was a pioneer for our family. She was driven by the love she had for her husband, Louis, to share her life with him, marry him, and start a family. She was brave and courageous to come to America to start that new life him. I love how grandma was passionate about everything she did from cooking the best food and being detailed in all she did, to encouraging everyone to be their best and showing compassion to others. Some of my favorite memories with her were in her apartment in the Bronx. Some of my favorite are playing card games with her, seeing her take naps in her chair, playing the piano, sitting down to enjoy the her Italian cooking, feeling the kisses she'd give on my face, and listening to her pep talks as eyes smiled her back at me. Rest in peace. Thank you for all that did for our family and being the best grandma. We love you! ❤️  xoxo Cynthia

So sad to hear this news. I thought she was so lovely and kind. She was such a sweet and gentle soul. I enjoyed her company so very much and I loved hearing  her stories about her life - how she learned how to cook Italian from her mother in law - and of her love and pride for her beloved children and their families. I know she will be greatly missed by so many. May her memory be eternal and may she rest in peace. Condolences to her family and friends🤍
