Lia Gentile, age 99, of New York, NY passed away peacefully on May 21,2023 at the Mary Manning Walsh Home in Manhattan. Lia is now reunited with her husband of 66 years and life-long love, Dominic, who passed away in November 2010. Lia was born on November 21, 1923 in Cuenca, Ecuador and immigrated to the United States with her family as a child. Lia lived in New York City before moving to Bethpage, NY in 1951 where she resided for the next 64 years before moving back into Manhattan. A beloved mother, Lia is survived by her four sons, Kenneth, Edward, Robert and Dominic, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and innumerable others who loved and adored her. Viewing will take place at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home on May 25, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Catholic service will be held at the same on May 26, 2023 at 10:15 a.m. with interment to follow at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood.
