He enjoyed time with family and friends. Often telling jokes from childhood memories or rattling off some trivia about the Latin root of a word.
Lucien was fluent in 4 languages, French, Haitian Creole, English and Spanish. This skill enabled him to serve as a civil servant in the Unified Court system as an Interpreter for 25 years.
Lucien was a very punctual man, he hated to be late, which drove his family a crazy because if he was getting ready…they all had to get ready. This often meant being ready hours before having to leave the house.
He was also a man of routine, he got up at the same time, ate at same time and just about did everything the same way every time…his deceased wife Janine use to joke and say…” you are worse than a laboratory mouse”
Lucien was also known in the family as “Dapper Dan”. He would say “there is nothing like the fit of a good suit, the right shirt, tie, pocket square and shined shoes”. And the final touch was his cologne!!
Lucien had many pastimes…he enjoyed playing dominos , checkers, listening to music but watching Yankees baseball was the ultimate! He was a loyal fan! He especially enjoyed talking about the Yankees with his grandsons Manny and Chris, which he affectionately called Popi and Popito.
Lucien lived a great life… filled with love, “joie de vivre” and laughter!
He will be missed.
