Born on May 9, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Jean and Angelo Conticelli. She was a graduate of Hempstead High School and went on to work for many years as a bookkeeper and accounts payable clerk, where her attention to detail and commitment were greatly valued.
Maria was known for her deep love for her family and friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as crocheting lovely and unique blankets, tending to her garden, diving into a good book, doing jigsaw puzzles, sewing beautiful quilts, crafting, and enjoying spirited card games with loved ones.
In the final months of her life, Maria resided at Holiday Maple Downs, an independent living community in Fayetteville, NY. Though her time there was short, she quickly became an integral part of the community, forming lasting friendships and embracing every activity and social event. Her kind and welcoming spirit earned her the role of Resident Ambassador, a fitting honor for someone who made everyone around her feel at home.
Maria’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion lives on in the many lives she touched.
