Maureen Quinn Hearty

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maureen Quinn Hearty, 67, of Hicksville, NY, who passed away on April 26, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY, to Jimmy and Ann Quinn, Maureen was a loving wife and cherished friend to many.

Maureen will be deeply missed by her husband John Hearty, with whom she shared 29 years, filled with laughter, love, and the joy of shared memories. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Maggie, her loyal and affectionate fur baby who was a constant companion in her life.

A passionate gardener, Maureen found joy in cultivating both flowers and vegetables, filling her home with vibrant color and life. Her love for gardening was matched only by her enthusiasm for the New York Mets and the Giants, teams she supported wholeheartedly with unwavering devotion.

Maureen was a career woman, having spent many years working at IBM, where she was known for her incredible work ethic and the positive impact she made on those around her. Her smile was contagious, and she had a way of connecting with people that made everyone feel special. A true people person, Maureen could light up any room with her warmth and infectious spirit.

Though she may no longer be with us, Maureen’s legacy of kindness, love, and happiness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a bright soul whose presence will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Maureen is survived by her beloved husband, John Hearty, her cherished dog Maggie, and a network of friends and loved ones who will forever remember her kindness, her smile, and her joy for life.

A visitation for Maureen will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801.
