Alma Jane Gordon Lawson

Alma Jane Gordon Lawson, 86 of High Point passed away February 21, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born February 4, 1925 in High Point a daughter of the late James E. Gordon and Gladys Kennedy Gordon.

Alma was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School and a graduate of the Lottie Barber Smith’s Guilford Business School of High Point. Prior to her retirement in January of 1990 she was employed by the Smithdeal Realtors for 37 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of High Point.

In addition to her parents Alma was preceded in death by her husband Jasper E. Lawson.

She is survived by one sister, Frances Gordon Patterson of High Point, one niece, Mary Jane Brewer (Mike) of High Point, a nephew, Samuel L. Patterson Jr. (Lynn) of High Point, two great nieces, Mollie and Chelsea Brewer, and three great nephews, Kirk, Wesley, and Kyle Patterson.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 23rd. at 11 am at the Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point with the Reverend Gay Gulick officiating. Visitation will be 10am until time of service on Wednesday. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery of High Point.
