

HIGH POINT – Arnold Horace Brown, 97, passed away on Thursday, December 21st, 2017 at Spring Arbor of Thomasville. He was born to the late Zebulon Vance and Bessie Wood Brown on October 31st, 1920 in High Point.
The youngest of 9 children, Arnold was a lifelong resident of High Point. He worked for Adams Millis for over 50 years as a fixer. Arnold was a member of Montlieu Avenue United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where he served as an usher. Upon Montlieu’s closing he became a member of Christ United Methodist Church of High Point. He was married to Mabel Lee Jester on January 27th, 1940.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 69 years, Mabel Jester Brown; brothers Alvin Brown, James “Mutt” Brown, Vernon Brown and Robert Brown; sisters Ethel Harris, Lether Braswell, Thelma Lightfoot and Betty Delehanty.
Arnold is survived by his son, Larry Wayne Brown of High Point; grandchildren, Alan “Scott” Brown and wife Tina, Bradley R Brown and wife Janelle, Marty Holman and wife Gina, and Mimi Shoaf-Harbeck and husband Dana; great grandchildren, Alan Brown Jr, Molly Brown, Eric Brown, Emily Brown, Gregory Brown, Bradley Shoaf, Karli Shoaf, Maggie Holman and Lacie Holman.

Memorial contributions can be made to Christ United Methodist Church of High Point or to Mobile Meals of High Point.
A funeral service for Arnold Brown will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at 2pm at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point, Pastor Jeff Martin officiating.
