Mr. Hazzard was born on August 26, 1925 in Wayne County, NC to the late Arthur Lee and Laura Webber Hazzard. He grew up in High Point along with seven brothers and sisters. Doc enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during World War II. For many years, he was the owner and operator of Allied Roofing company.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gerri in 2007, his brothers, Albert and Marion, and his sister, Blanche.
Surviving are his sons, Ken Hazzard and his wife Susan and Craig Hazzard; granddaughter, Laura; grandsons, Trent and Scott; brother, Frank Hazzard; sisters, Doris and Faye Nell; and significant other, Faye Connor.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am Thursday at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Crawford Crenshaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 until 9:45 am Thursday prior to the service at Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Avenue.
