Billy was born in High Point, October 11, 1962. He was formerly employed by Providence Transport. Billy was an avid motorcyclist.
Surviving are his father, Wallace Cates and wife Lucille; mother, Carol Trotter; sons, Chris, Jason, Brandon and Tyler Cates; a daughter, Kerri Lynn Cates who was the light of his life; his wife, Marie Cates; a sister, Ashlee Cates; a brother, Michael Cates; fiancé and mother of Kerri Lynn, Crystal Payne; grandchildren, Brianna, Jake, Emily Grace, Chandler, and Bentley Wallace Cates.
A Celebration of Billy’s Life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Amos Mashburn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 until 8:30. Online condolences may be made at davisfuneralsandcremations.com.
