

Charles was born in Randolph County, December 31, 1923, a son of Charles M. Croker and Lina Mell Davis Croker. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II, serving in France and Germany. Charles farmed his entire life and also worked in the furniture industry with Burlington Industries, National Upholstery and Braxton Culler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Croker; two sisters, Wilma Ball and Leah Dobbins and a brother, William S. Croker. Charles was a member of Marlboro Friends Meeting and enjoyed raising vegetables and fruits. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are a daughter, Carla Lamm and her husband Ronald of New Bern; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson of Trinity and JoAnn Wall and husband Bruce of McLeansville; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Charles’s Life will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Ray Luther. Burial will follow in Marlboro Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:30 until the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont or to Marlboro Friends Meeting.
