A resident of this area all of his life, Coy was born on March 9, 1934 in Guilford County to the late Claude and Erlaine Osborne Whitt. For many years, Coy worked for Huggins Tire Sales on the NASCAR circuit. He also enjoyed boating and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Dale Whitt.
Survivors include: his son, Randy Whitt and his wife Lora of Trinity; four grandchildren, Bethany, Courtney, Nathan, and Cody Whitt; three great grandchildren, Summer, Sebastian, and Arielle; siblings, Barbara Whitt Kinley, Larry Osborne Whitt, and Amy Whitt Knight; numerous nieces, nephews, and his Goodyear work family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:30 until 8:30pm Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Davis Funerals and Cremations.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Coy’s doctors, caregivers, and nurses who provided dedicated care and support.
