

A resident of this area all of his life, David was born on December 29, 1931 in Randolph County to the late Nathan Amos Hunt, Sr. and Cora Luck Hunt. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Marlboro Friends Meeting. He was an avid bowler, having achieved a multitude of accomplishments, including bowling numerous perfect games of 300.
For 39 1/2 years, he had worked as a linesman for Randolph Electric Membership Co-op. David especially enjoyed watching and feeding his birds, woodworking, and watching NASCAR and NCIS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Amos Hunt, Jr.
David is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Betty Davis Hunt, who survives of the home; daughter, Dava Leigh Hunt of Raleigh; and son, Timothy Raeford Hunt and wife Heidi of Greensboro.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 6:30 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the chapel of Davis Funerals and Cremations, 976 Phillips Ave., High Point, with Rev. John Sides officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
