

Mrs. Dorothy Arlesta Kennedy Davis, age 87, of High Point passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 in the Hospice Home at High Point. Mrs. Davis was born on November 17, 1924 in Candor, N.C. to George Velton and Nellie Teachey Kennedy. She worked for a short while in the hosiery industry of High Point and later devoted herself to raising her family as a homemaker. Mrs. Davis was a devoted and faithful member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1600 N. Centennial Street in High Point. She was an avid admirer and lover of nature and all of God's Creation. On February 12, 1946 she married Paul William Davis, who proceeded her in death on May 20, 1973. She was also proceeded in death by a son, Phillip C. Davis in 1981 and a sister, Helen L. Poole and a brother, Donald Ray Kennedy. Mrs. Davis is survived by her children; Lyssa Davis Froyd of High Point, Donald P.Davis of High Point , and Kenneth W. Davis of Atlanta, GA. She has one sister, Ruth Knepper of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and one brother Charles Kennedy of Supply, N C. There are ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life on Tuesday, June 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnessess with Richard Runion as officiating minister.
