Born on September 19, 1914 to Earl and Mamie Long. She was a dental assistant to Dr. Seymour Ward and later owned and operated Doc Twiford Seafood Restaurant on Monticello Ave. in Norfolk, VA. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and member of Jamestown Congregation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doc Taylor Twiford; four brothers and 1 sister.
Survivors include daughters, Anne Winslow of Jamestown and Mary Carol Scalzi of Virginia Beach; son, Doc Taylor Twiford Jr. and his wife Dorie of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1:00pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home in Virginia. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
