

Greta was born in Hickory, NC, on June 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Terry Alexander and Marguerite Pollard Alexander. She and her husband, Harold “Zeke” Cox, owned and operated Harold D. Cox Associates in High Point for over 30 years. Greta was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Renn Carlisle and Pynes Stanley, a brother, Terry Alexander, Jr. and her beloved golden retriever Haley.
Surviving are three daughters, Marti Langham, Barbara Cox and Nancy Shelden; three sons, Doug Cox and wife Lisa, Joe Cox and wife Laura, and Andy Cox; grandchildren, Tim, David and Katie Langham, and Aaron Cox; a great-grandson, Elliot Plitt; two sisters, Peggy Carmichael and Mary Gail Thompson.
Greta most enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and sports, especially the UNC Tar Heels, the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed her many dear friends in the Wyndham and Brookdale Skeet Club communities.
A Celebration of Greta’s life will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Randy Quate. The family will receive friends following the service until 1 p.m. and at other times at the home of her daughter Barbara at 3712 Azalea Court in High Point.
