Hazel Boggs Messinger

Hazel was born in High Point, April 27, 1924, a daughter of the late John W. Boggs and Tobitha Cheek. She was a retired L.P.N. and was a cosmetologist at Maryfield/PennyByrn for twenty eight years. Hazel was a long-time member of Green Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cline Messinger, five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Simmons; two grandchildren, Ken Simmons and his wife Kim and Jennifer Pickett and her husband Steve; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Pickett, Dru Simmons and Dexter Simmons; a great-great-granddaughter, McKenna Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Floral Garden Park Cemetery by Pastor Steve Walsh. The family will receive friends at Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home, 976 Phillips Ave., Tueday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews @ www.ifcj.org.
