Helen V. Memory, age 89, passed away Friday, September 14th in the Friends Home at Greensboro., She was born April 6, 1923 in Flatwoods, Kentucky, the daughter of Earl Cranston and Flora Lee Bowe Vanderhoof. Mrs. Memory served in the Civil Service of 35 years as an Administrative Assistance, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church and the Austin Fortney Sunday School Class. On June 26, 1949 she married Alvin Lee Memory who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, Barry Lee Memory of High Point, and her daughter Barbara Ann Singleton of Raleigh, NC. Mrs. Memory has one sister, Lena Brown of Flatwoods, KY. There are three grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Jamestown United Methodist Church by the Reverend Jim Watford. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
