A Life Well-Lived
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of John Renken, who left us peacefully on May 13, 2025.
John was a quiet pillar of strength and had a smile that made you know how much you were loved. Born on March 15,1933 in Auburn, IL, he lived through eras of change and transformation, marked by dedication, hard work, and love for his family and friends.
John married Florence, and they built a home filled with love and laughter. They were blessed with one daughter: Sandie Evering, two grandchildren: Sharon Cass and Curtis Starkey and three great-grandchildren: Jacob Cass, Henry Cass and Iris Starkey. He shared passions and hobbies, created unforgettable moments and always provided a sense of home wherever that might be.
He navigated a variety of careers landing with Real Estate Appraisal. He owned his own business and worked side by side with his wife, Florence. He was known for his efficiency, honesty and the quality of his work.
We celebrate a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. His legacy is one of integrity, compassion, and commitment to making the world a better place.
John was a very private and simple man who did not want to have a funeral service. If you would like to honor his legacy, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.
May John rest in peace, and may his legacy inspire and guide us for generations to come.
With deepest sympathy,
Sharon Cass and Family
